Signed up for an MBA programme at Kaplan recently. Really regret doing the application so early if I knew that the application/"approval" process was so easy. I was "admitted" to the MBA programme at the University of Hull with no references or interviews. Bryan and I attended the info session some time late last month. We signed up for the program a day after the info session just so that we can get the documentation process started, after being assured that we will be refunded if we are not admitted to the school. However, about 2 weeks later, we decided not to join the course. At this moment, acceptance emails come flooding in and an interview was arranged with the school etc... And they refused to refund any part of the $850 that I paid as part application fee and part instalment for the program.

How I look at this is that Kaplan has decided to "accept" me into the program without reference or interview just to keep all my money as "Application Fees". Fair warning to all who are intending to do your EMBA with the University of Hull, DON'T APPLY EARLY! You'll get nothing back if you decide to change your mind.

$850 is a lot of money for application fees. Even INSEAD or Ivy leagues schools don't take that much. The consultant involved is Amos Tan, I must say a rather uncooperative chap. Hope this works out in the next 2 weeks. Sigh... My life wasted on complaining.
