Recently I've been thinking about the message of claiming and receiving the blessings of God. I've tried to tell myself it works. So I did, everyday I prayed for blessings for myself, my family. But they don't seem to happen. Sab's had her visa delayed and she got really mad at the people at the ambassy not to mention the travel agent who told her she had to pay $125 more just to change her flight. Yeah it happens when you are not traveling Singapore Airlines and decide to save a little to travel on British Airways, they are a lot more inflexible.
Yesterday while taking a shower, I think God finally revealed the message. 1st claiming and receiving blessings from God can only happen if... God planned for it to happen anyway. Before that can happen God has a purpose, before the purpose is fulfilled things just don't move on. I've been thinking about Pastor Prince's message about blessings and faith. The missing key in the message is the will of God. The short term will of God and the ultimate will of God. Does God want us to have good things? Yes. But does that mean you have to be materially blessed? Not relevant. What if you want to be materially blessed and you have faith that God will give you the good things? I'll say inconsequential. Ultimately, God has a purpose. Through this visa experience I realise something, there's something in the waiting. Actively seeking God's purpose helps shorten the time between your current situation and the resolution. I figured God had in this experience to remind me that the world doesn't revolve around me. People don't work around me. God certainly doesn't work around me.
Claiming by faith can only be done if God has called you in the first place. I finally understand what Eric, my cell leader, was talking about. I can cross the river with all the faith I have but unless God called me, I'll drown anyway.
