I've just read on Mashable that Google has acquired Bumptop. So what's Bumptop? I went to their site and downloaded the now defunct company's application. The 3D desktop manager was a bit over for desktop management and I still prefer the Fences that I use right now. But having seen the new iPad (the one that belongs to Kiat). I can imagine the use of such an interface for a touch screen device. It will be cool and convenient and in fact better than simple touch icons.

See a demostration that Anand Agarawala did at Ted.

With this acquisition will we see a  new interface for Android for touch screen devices? How about a GPad?....

If you are interested in trying out this application on your desktop, I've downloaded their last installable free version which you can download here.
