Some of you might remember my Facebook rantings about telemarketing/sales calls that happen so frequently they waste about 1-2 hours of my life each day just saying "I'm busy." and putting the phone down. Finally... we are doing something about it legally around here. MICA has a public consultation on going. Please put in your comments and feedback on how to manage this better.

Good marketing and customer campaigns lie not in annoying repeated calling, or extensive discounts (like 90% off) through expensive platforms (like Group Buying Sites) etc, but on engagement. The ability to involve the customer with your brand and the natural willingness to spread good promotions and experiences because they have been incentivised to do so. Real value last. You won't need to sustain high marketing budgets to experience traffic spikes. Marketing efforts with real value see an incremental return on the business while maintaining the same cost. A increasing ROI over time.

If you deliver real compelling value to your customers, they will naturally be an brand advocate and pass the message on.

Leave a comment below if you are looking for or have seen an example of a successful marketing campaign which delivers real value.
